Waddell Beach & Elephant Seal Tour

Jan 18 - Come visit the seals of Ano Nuevo State Park and a night of car camping at Waddell Beach.

Explore Año Nuevo with a Docent


Año Nuevo offers guided walks lead by volunteer docent naturalist to see the northern elephant seals in their natural habitat inside the Año Nuevo Coast Natural Preserve. Año Nuevo docents go through extensive training and are highly knowledgeable in the natural and cultural history of the park. Elephant seal activities and population counts can vary widely throughout the guided walk season.

USS Pampanito Overnight
December 6th - 7th:  Spend the night with Troop 14 onboard the historic Pampanito submarine. A great outing for scouts and adults!  The USS Pampanito made six patrols in the Pacific during World War II during which she sank six Imperial Japanese ships and damaged four others. We are honored to be able to spend the night on the Pampanito on Friday, December 6th - Saturday December 7th (National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day).
We have the ship to ourselves for the evening and we have spots for 20 scouts and 5 adults. 
$50 per attendee.

Costs:    $58 (+ EventBrite fees) including: $45 STEM Program & 2 Flight option + $8 upgrade to 1 High Flight/Child + $5 pizza




Introduction to Backpacking at Castle Rock State Park

November 9th - 10th:  Join Troop 14 Senior Scouts on an introduction to backpack camping. This outing is also a shakedown for next summer's Philmont Expedition. This event will feature an overnight in the wilds of Castle Rock (45 min drive). Scouts and adults will bring everything they need for 1 day of hiking, camping and eating with them on a 2.5 mile hike to the camp site. An alternate longer hike will be led by scouts planning on going to Philmont.  Tickets are $11.  20 scout and 8 adult tickets are available.
